100 Year Anniversary
North Middle School celebrated a century of learning September 24th, 2024. The evening included the opening of the time capsule, food trucks, performances from our Band & Orchestra, tie-dying special 100-Year T-Shirts, and self-guided tours of the building through the Decades! We had special appearances from Mayor Yemi Mobolade, D11 Superintendent Michael Gaal, and other council members.
This event could not have happened without the hard work and skills of many current North students. GT students worked tirelessly to organize artifacts, archives, and alumni interviews. Other students put together a tie-dye station. NJHS students helped spread the word to North's neighbors and District 11's School Board. Band and Orchestra members put together an amazing performance in just three weeks!
These students proved themselves to be resilient, hard-working risk-takers, and it paid off in a wonderful Birthday celebration for one of District 11's oldest middle schools.
